Craigslist, Google, Propsmart, and Trulia are four websites that meet the aforementioned criteria. They aren't tied to a real estate company, broker, or individual real estate agent. CRAIGSLIST Started by Craig Newmark in San Francisco, CA in 1995, this online classified ads website has grown exponentially. With over five billion page views, there are no rivals to Craigslist as the alternative source for searching for real estate. To search for a home for sale in Craigslist, simply enter denver.craigslist.org/rfs (if you don't live in or want to search for homes in Denver, you can replace Denver with the city you want to search). GOOGLE Google's foray into real estate begins and ends with their tool called Google Base. Google Base is a database where any user can enter data as long as they adhere to the Google Base standards. Google has used this tool to allow home owners and real estate agents to upload home listings. When you search for "Denver homes" or "Denver real estate" the first result is from Google. A small form will be displayed that will allow to do a quick search. Propsmart went live in 2005 and has been exponentially adding listings for many cities in their database. They use a Google Maps interface to show the locations of the listing. TRULIA By far the most informational real estate sites is Trulia. They are not brokers or agents. "They are a real estate search engine that helps you find homes for sale and provides real estate information at the local level to help you make better decisions in the process." Unlike Craigslist, Google or Propsmart, Trulia has a wealth of information on Denver and the surrounding suburbs such as average sales price, crime statistics, and schools.

With Craigslist, Google, Propsmart, and Trulia, you don't need a real estate agent to find homes for sale in Denver, CO. However, if you do use a real estate agent, these sites will help you and your agent find homes for sale in Denver.
